Let’s renew our commitment to living in the image of the Holy Trinity.
Today, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. We are
invited to reflect on the central mystery of our faith: one God in three Persons –
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This divine community of perfect unity and love is a
profound communion into which we have been invited. Our Responsorial Psalm
exclaims, “Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.”
Grasping the concept of the Holy Trinity can be challenging, as it transcends
reasoning and experience. However, through faith, we can catch glimpses of this
truth that God is a relationship of love and that by God’s will, we are part of that
eternal exchange. St. Augustine said, “If you see charity, you see the
Trinity.” The love that unites the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is the same
love that has been poured into our hearts, making us God’s chosen people.
When we make the sign of the Cross, we are affirming our belief in the
Trinity and recalling our baptism, when we were marked as God’s own. With
each blessing, we invoke the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
sanctifying the moments of our lives with the presence of the Triune God. This
seemingly simple act is a testament to our faith, reminding us that “we live,
move, and have our being” (Act 17:28) within the divine embrace of the Trinity.
Jesus, the Son, showed us the way to the Father and sent the Holy Spirit as our
Advocate and Guide. In the unity of the Holy Trinity, we find the model for all our
relationships – a call to love selflessly, to serve joyfully, and to give generously.
Dear brothers and sisters, as God’s chosen people, we are called to be a
sign of the Holy Trinity’s presence in the world. We must be testimonies
of God’s love, peace, and justice. We should continually praise the Father,
through the Son, in the Holy Spirit. Every action, word, and thought should be an
offering to God, a manifestation of our deep communion with the Trinity. This
understanding of the Holy Trinity should guide our interactions, decisions, and
priorities, shaping us into the image of the Holy Trinity.
The Holy Trinity is the very essence of our Christian life. In every Eucharist,
we participate in the life of the Trinity. We offer our gifts and our very selves to
the Father, we are united with the sacrifice of the Son, and we are enlivened by
the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is our constant
companion and guide on our spiritual journey. This communion with the Trinity,
facilitated by the Holy Spirit, is the source of our strength and our hope.Fr. Dominic Toan Tran, Pastor
On this solemn feast, let us renew our commitment to living in the image of
the Holy Trinity. Let us be agents of unity in our communities, bearers
of God’s love to the world, and faithful stewards of the grace we have received.
Blessed indeed are we, the people the Lord has chosen to be His own.
