July. 1, 1992 – St. John the Evangelist parish established. Fr. Ronald Schulz, administrator.
Nov. 1, 1992 – First mass celebrated at Olympic Heights High School.
Oct. 1, 1995 – Space rented at Hampton Square Plaza for worship and parish office.
Sept. 22, 1997 – Fr. Michael O’Flaherty is appointed 2nd pastor. 350 registered parish families.
Oct., 1998 – Land cleared on Yamato Road parish property in anticipation of upcoming Capital Campaign.
Feb., 1999 – First Capital Campaign, “Our Faith… Our Future I” is launched.
Jan. 15, 2000 – Groundbreaking ceremonies for multipurpose building.
March 3-4, 2001 – First Mass is celebrated under tents in parking lot, awaiting Certificate of Occupancy.
June 29, 2003 – $3.4 million mortgage is burned at all masses.
Feb., 2004 – Second Capital Campaign is launched, “Our Faith… Our Future II”
March 8, 2009 – Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new church.
Sept. 18, 2010 – First Mass celebrated in the new church. 1486 registered families.
Oct. 25, 2015 – $7-million mortgage for the church burned at all Masses. 1,700 registered families.
